A case so big, so deadly, it’ll take two ass-kicking investigative teams to crack it. But will even they be enough when Grace deHaviland teams up with ex-DEA agent Nick Lafferty and his crew, heroes of David DeLee’s thriller Crystal White.

Bounty hunter Grace deHaviland takes on a case involving a couple of drug dealers in from New York, trying to expand their gang’s heroin market into Ohio. To locate her bail jumpers and stop a gang war from breaking out on the streets of Columbus, Grace must make a deal with the devil—against the wishes of her two best friends, sheriff’s deputy Suzie Jensen and BCI Agent Eugene Booker—and work with the drug lord of a notoriously dangerous street gang to broker a peace. But the situation only worsens when her bail jumpers make a violent attempt to steal a shipment of drugs and people end up dead.

With Grace’s bail jumper on the run, Booker calls in a favor from an old acquaintance in New York. Enter ex-DEA Agent Nick Lafferty.

Lafferty tries to do his old friend a solid, but when his poking around results in an attempt on his life, and that of ADA Caitlin McKenna, Lafferty must ramp up his game. With his ex-partner Delmar Harley by his side, they push back against the criminals and law enforcement alike to get what they need, but will they find what they’re looking for before or after more people die?

Then Grace deHaviland arrives in New York, with a chip on her shoulder and an ax to grind. Lafferty’s agreed to lend her a hand, but with the lives of the people he cares most about on the line, if Grace thinks she can run the show without interference, she’s got another thing coming. Luckily, the bad guys have pissed them off worse than they annoy each other and now must face a unified front. But will even that be enough?
